after...umm many weeks, hours without sleep and all that stuff i finally made it.
Yes, i get back from the death an old computer, it is a intel 500mhz with 256 of ram with 8gib of hd. I feel so bad when someone dump a computer just because its old, u cant imagine what can u do with old computers.
For example, i had 4 proyects in hand.
1.- Make a web server, u can run a nice server with 128mb of ram and 468mhz of core. its pretty fast if u take care of it by ssh without graphic interface like x.
2.- Make a hardware-firewall, for this, u need to know about ip tables, but u always be secure.
3.-U can make a security station with anywebcam and at least 32mb of ram, amazing uh??
4.-This is my favorite one, a Proxy-Cache server. A caching proxy server accelerates service requests by retrieving content saved from a previous request made by the same client or even other clients. Caching proxies keep local copies of frequently requested resources, allowing to significantly reduce upstream bandwidth usage and cost, while significantly increasing performance. Most ISPs and large businesses have a caching proxy. This means, if u visit deviantart a lot (more than 3 or 4 times at day) u will be impressed of the speed u can get when loading, uploading or donwloading content, cuz its cache is stored in ur proxy cache server giving u more than 300 or 400% of speed in each webpage.
